This document explains how to send and receive faxes via the Franklin virtual fax system directly from your Franklin email. If you don't have a virtual fax number or do not know what your fax number is, please contact the help desk.
Sending a Fax:
If you have a virtual fax number assigned to you, you can send a fax to any domestic fax number via your Franklin email. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Log in to your email, either via the web portal (mail.franklin.edu) or via the Outlook desktop application
2. Compose a new message
3. In the “To:” field, type the 10-digit phone number of the fax you want to send to, and then “@fax.franklin.edu.” For example: firstname.lastname@example.org
4. Type the message you want to fax in the body of the email. You can also attach a Word document or PDF to the email and send it. Anything that appears in the body of the email and in any attached documents will be converted to a fax.
5. Click “Send”
Please note: It can take several minutes for the fax to go through.
Receiving a Fax:
If you have a virtual fax number assigned to you, any fax message sent to you will be received in your email inbox with a PDF attachment. The email will be from "The HylaFAX Receive Agent." The fax format is 614255XXXX@fax.franklin.edu
