Traditional Calendar View

In addition to the standard home page calendar view, students and instructors may now also view a more traditional Calendar.

The standard view looks like this:

To view the new traditional calendar, click Calendar. Click Courses again to toggle back to the standard view.

You may also choose one view to be the default view by selecting the view you want and then clicking Make this my default view. Each time you login, your view will default to the option you have selected, either the course view or the calendar view.

Here is the new Traditional Calendar view:

From this view, you can see monthly or weekly views, all courses or custom course views.

By default, all course activity is shown in the Month view. Courses are listed on the left and assignments with due dates are listed in the calendar grid. Clicking on any assignment will open that assignment within the course for viewing.

To view activity for a specific course, click on the course name and the view will switch to include only activities for that course.

Click on additional courses to add to the custom view. You can also click again on a selected course to remove it from the view, or, click Clear Filters to reset the view to the default.

Using the arrows, you can navigate to the next month or a previous month view. Select Today to view the standard view.

You can also switch between a Week view and the Month view. The Month view is the default. The Week view breaks down assignments by due dates.

The calendar can be exported and subscribe to it with other popular calendar applications or devices. To begin, click Export Calendar.

This will create a custom URL address specific to your calendar. Click Copy to copy the URL to the clipboard.

You will see a confirmation message that the URL has been copied. Now, the calendar can be imported into other applications, such as Microsoft Outlook or Google Calendar. Please refer to your specific phone/tablet’s instructions for subscribing to an outside calendar. Most have wizards that will step you through the process.

You may also paste the URL into a new browser tab to download the ICS file to your device. Clicking on the link from your device will often guide you through the calendar import wizard of the application you wish to use.

You can also paste the URL into an email, send it to yourself and then click on the link to the ICS file on your smartphone. This should also start the setup process on your device.
